Allegheny College is a private, liberal arts college located in Meadville, Pennsylvania, known for its unique requirement of students having both a major and a minor in different disciplines. This approach, alongside its strong focus on undergraduate research, has helped it gain recognition as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the nation.
Challenge
Upon charting Allegheny’s College’s Strategic Pathway, the astute President recognized that he and his Cabinet needed to hone their executive skills and team cohesion before embarking on strategy execution. Compass’s mission was to elevate the Cabinet’s collective performance in order to execute the strategy.
Process
The collaboration initiated with the President sharing the development needs and desired outcomes of the program with the co-facilitators for the training. Compass used multiple assessments to understand the current state of the Cabinet to build preliminary curriculum to meet the President’s objectives. Curriculum evolved as the engagement unfolded to include new leaders and meet the needs of the participants.
